Owner-Training Options
Here is a short overview of our options for handlers who wish to owner train their own service dogs! Owner-trainers do all of the hands-on training themselves, while under the direct guidance of one of our trusted Trainers.

Monthly Trainer Subscription
Our monthly trainer subscription is an affordable way to be able to get maximum access to our trainers who provide quick assistance with all of your burning questions and any problems you have during your owner-training journey. The monthly subscription comes with the ability to virtually communicate directly with one of our trainers up to a maximum of four times per week. This is great for individuals who may not be able to afford a program dog, but need quite a bit of assistance with owner-training. There is an option, for our more local handlers, to add-on a weekly training outing with one of our trainers where you will receive one-on-one instruction, feedback, and/or demonstrations, for only $75 additional (a $200 value)!

Private Lessons
Obedience and task training in home or in a public setting. During private lessons, you will meet 1-on-1 with one of our trainers. We may bring a demo-dog to a public session.

Group Outings
For our teams who are ready to work around other dogs (at the discretion of Legacy), handlers may meet in public spaces with us and work their dogs around ours. This is a free service, unless the handler would like any assistance with training during this trip.

Temperament Testing
In addition to training assistance, Legacy-Columbus also offers temperament testing! We can test a litter or an individual pup! We do not often conduct temperament tests for dogs over 2 years old, in relation to service dog training. Contact us for more information about this service!
